About our groups:
LAwritersgroup.com's writers groups are moderated writers’ groups, not classes in writing techniques. Although you will learn a great deal from both the moderator’s and fellow members' feedback, there is no “lecture portion” of the evening. The groups are designed to get your creativity flowing, provide a safe place to receive feedback, have a weekly forum to encourage productivity and accountability, and to explore new voices and genres.
Each workshop will begin with 3 improvisational writing prompts, each range from 5 minutes to 15 minutes long:

- First creative writing exercise based on a writing prompt given by the moderator
- Second creative writing exercise based on a writing prompt given by the moderator
- SHORT BREAK
- Third creative writing exercise based on a writing prompt given by the moderator
- Followed by: Feedback/discussion of members materials they've brought in for critique
