Vermillion Literary Project, a literary organization at the University of South Dakota has asked us to post a request for your work! The link to their submission process is here: http://orgs.usd.edu/projlit/submityourwork.html. The submission page notes that preference is given to works with a South Dakota or Midwest connection, but Sara Kniffen of the editorial staff says that "quality trumps all". Let us know how it goes....

I was fortunate to have both a poem and artwork published in the 2004 (I believe) edition of VLP. Wonderful journal -- you will be among good company. Though I live in Illinos I also attended their launch event and read my poem "Written Pantomime". The jury is tough though. It took me a couple of tries over the years to finally be accepted.
Good for you, Henry! Your story is also a testament to not simply submitting once and giving up - there are many reasons work is turned down - sometimes it doesn't quite fit with the other work in that particular edition or perhaps it is too long or too short (again an editorial decision that has nothing to do with the merit of the piece). Thanks for sharing!
